International Battery Center (IBC) traces its roots back to the Polymer Ionic Research Group (PRIG) since 2007, officially establishing itself as a company in 2022. Our mission is to serves as a comprehensive hub for smart collaborations, fastering local and international partnerships among government-linked companies (GLCs), industrial companies and universities. Our primary focus is to accelerate the advancements of energy storage, particularly in Li-ion battery development, catering to the needs of device applications and electric vehicles (EVs) in Malaysia.

HEBATT 1.0 laboratory IBC–Nano Malaysia , NMB is a strategic collaboration focused on hydrogen, electric vehicle, and battery technologies in Malaysia. Officially launched on 20 September 2022 by YB Dato’ Sri Dr. Adham Bin Baba, former Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, the laboratory aims to build a strong local battery ecosystem. It serves as a Centre of Excellence for battery research and fabrication, emphasizing graphene-based lithium-ion, sodium-ion, and aluminium-ion batteries, while promoting pouch cell development to achieve higher energy density, improved performance, and longer cycle life in support of the National Green Economy agenda.
